Privacy Policy

1. Controller

The controller is the operator of SteamTexx. For privacy requests, contact privacy@steamtexx.info.

2. Categories of data

SteamTexx processes account data, Discord OAuth data, linked Steam identifiers, public Steam profile information, server/guild metadata, usage events, API key metadata and report data.

For neutral Reddit community mentions, SteamTexx may store only minimal source data: SteamID64, subreddit, Reddit permalink, source timestamp, a short sanitized snippet, a classification label and a hashed author identifier.

For behavioral signals, SteamTexx may store historical public profile snapshots, friend lists including friend_since timestamps, public group references, public comment counters and derived neutral signal metadata. Trade URLs, API keys or other non-public data are not inferred.

The GDPR applies to organised processing of personal data and grants individuals rights regarding their data.

3. Purposes

Data is processed to provide login, Steam and Discord account linking, profile statistics, trust lookups, Discord bot functions, public API access, rate limits, abuse prevention and product analytics.

Reddit source mentions and behavioral signals are processed to show external or historical public context neutrally and to allow resync, dispute or visibility controls.

4. Legal bases

Depending on the feature, processing may be based on contract performance, consent, legitimate interests, legal obligations or protection against abuse.

Public Steam profile data is processed to provide searchable profile and trust insights while respecting available visibility states.

5. Discord and Steam

Discord OAuth is used for login and server administration features. Steam OpenID or Steam profile identifiers are used to link Steam profiles.

When the bot is installed, SteamTexx may store guild ID, guild name, installation state and usage statistics for bot commands.

6. Cookies and sessions

SteamTexx uses necessary session cookies for login and local storage/cookies for language preference. These are required for account and localization features.

If you give consent, SteamTexx may also use Google Analytics for reach and product analytics and Google AdSense for advertising, ad measurement and ad delivery.

Consent for Google advertising and analytics services may be requested and managed through Google Privacy & Messaging / a Google-certified consent management solution. SteamTexx uses Google Consent Mode v2 so Google tags receive your consent status before analytics or advertising storage is used.

7. Retention

Session data is retained until expiry or logout. Usage and report data may be retained as long as needed for service operation, abuse prevention, billing preparation and community trust features.

Public profile data may be refreshed or removed when it becomes unavailable or when deletion is legally required.

If a Reddit source is deleted, removed, private or otherwise unavailable during resync, SteamTexx marks the source as removed, clears the stored snippet and stops showing it publicly.

Behavioral signals can be disputed from the linked profile account. Visibility can be limited through the privacy controls where available.

8. Recipients and processors

SteamTexx uses hosting infrastructure and third-party platforms such as Discord and Steam. Data may be transferred to these providers when necessary for authentication or bot functionality.

For analytics and advertising, data may be processed by Google services such as Google Analytics, Google AdSense and Google Privacy & Messaging, depending on your consent and the availability of ads on the page.

Appropriate agreements and safeguards should be maintained for processors where required.

9. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to information, access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent.
