It can move diagonally without jumping over intervening pieces.<br></li><li><strong>The Rook</strong>. It can move any number of cells horizontally or vertically without jumping.<br></li><li><strong>The Queen</strong>. It is the most powerful piece in the game, able to move any number of cells vertically, horizontally or diagonally, combining the power of the rook and bishop.<br></li><li><strong>The King</strong>. It is the most important piece in the game. It may move to any adjoining cell.
